1. Who we are
SporChat is an app and website for sports fans, operated by Nadav Cohen (sole proprietor), Israel. For any question, complaint or request: sporchatapp@gmail.com. We respond within 3 business days.
2. Minimum age
The service is for people aged 18 and over only. By using it you confirm that you are at least 18. If we learn that a younger person has created an account, we will close it and delete the data collected.
3. Your account and phone verification
Accounts are created with a phone number and a one-time code (OTP) sent by SMS. You are responsible for keeping access to your phone number and for everything done from your account. Do not share your code, do not create an account in someone else's name, and do not hold more than one account at a time.
4. Your content
"User content" is anything you post on the service: chat messages, feed posts, comments, images, videos, voice messages, nickname, profile picture and free text. Your content stays yours. By posting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, copy and distribute it within the service and solely in order to operate it — including backups and moderation scanning. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or to handle an open report. You confirm that content you upload is yours or that you have permission to upload it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
5. Rules of conduct — zero-tolerance policy
We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post or send content that is: incitement, racism, or an attack based on religion, nationality, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, disability or any other affiliation; threats, harassment, bullying or stalking; sexually explicit material, nudity, or any sexual content involving minors in any form; graphic violence or encouragement of self-harm; content that infringes copyright or trademarks; another person's private details without their consent; spam, commercial advertising, fraud or misleading content; promotion of real-money gambling; or anything unlawful. You may not impersonate another person, run automated accounts, attempt to bypass our security or moderation, scrape the service or interfere with its operation. Content that breaks these rules will be removed, and an account that breaks them will be blocked or closed — at our sole discretion, without prior notice, and with no refund of points or coins. In serious cases, including content involving minors or a credible threat, we will pass the information to law enforcement.
6. Reporting, blocking and response
Every message and post has a report button, and every user can be blocked. Blocking immediately ends mutual exposure to content. Every report is reviewed by a person. We commit to reviewing each report within 24 hours and taking the appropriate action: removing content, issuing a warning, blocking temporarily or closing the account. Where possible we tell the reporter the outcome. Misusing the reporting mechanism, including repeated bad-faith reports, is itself a breach of these terms.
7. Points, coins and competitions
The service includes points, coins, tiers, badges, leagues and predictions. These are virtual items for entertainment only. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be transferred, and are not refundable. We do not sell them and we do not offer in-app purchases of them. Predictions in the service are not gambling: there is no payment to enter and no cash prize. We may change, reset or cancel virtual items at our discretion, including after a fault, an exploit or a breach of these terms.
8. Artificial intelligence and automated moderation
To keep the environment safe, content you send is checked automatically before publication. Text and images are checked by an external moderation service; voice messages are transcribed first and the transcript is checked. The service also includes an AI sports commentator. You consent to this check when you open your account: the terms box you tick names it explicitly. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings. Withdrawal prevents future sending, and so publishing new content, and does not delete content already sent. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. Automated checking is not perfect: permitted content may be blocked and prohibited content may slip through. This does not reduce your responsibility for what you publish.
9. Intellectual property, sports data and credits
The service, its code, its design and the SporChat brand are ours. Match data, results and tables are supplied by GoalServe under a licence agreement. Formula 1 data is currently supplied by OpenF1. Photographs of managers and players come from Wikimedia Commons and are shown under each file's Creative Commons licence. Club, league and national-team crests are the trademarks of their owners and are shown for identification only; showing them implies no affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. Full credits appear on the About screen. If you believe content on the service infringes your rights, contact us at sporchatapp@gmail.com and we will address it.
10. Ending and deleting your account
You may delete your account at any time from inside the app: Settings → My account → Delete account. Deletion takes effect after a 7-day waiting period, during which you can cancel it from the same screen. At the end of that period your account, profile, messages, posts and media are deleted, and you receive a confirmation message. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and may discontinue the service as a whole on reasonable notice.
11. The service is provided as is
The service is provided "AS IS". We do not guarantee continuous availability, the accuracy of sports data, the correctness of results, or the retention of content. We depend on third-party providers and their data. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you actually paid us in the year before the event — and because the service is free, that amount is zero. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these terms
We update these terms from time to time. A material change will be shown inside the app before it takes effect. Continued use afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts of the Tel Aviv-Yafo district have exclusive jurisdiction.
